Alisagar
Deer Park is located in Nizamabad district of
Andhra Pradesh. The Alisagar was constructed in
1931 by the Nizam. Flanked by natural hillocks and
lovely flower gardens, the lake and its
surroundings are rich in scenic beauty. Near the reservoir is situated the
Alisagar Deer Park, which was established in 1985.
The park hosts many deer species. This is a good
picnic spot for tourists. From Nizamabad
there are regular buses to Alisagar. |

The District
Archeological Museum houses number of artefacts
and anthiquities representing the evolutions of
human civilisation right from Paleolithic to
Asafjahi times ( i.e., 16th AD ) . The
museum is broadly divided into 3 sections namely.
A) Archeological Sections B) Scuptural Gallery
C) Bronze and Decorative Gallery Bidri
ware, art arms, weapons and miniature paintings
are also displayed.

Dichpalli

Just off the Hyderabad - Nizambad highway Dichpalli temple is
located 15 Kms from Nizambad Town. Picturesquely located on a
hillock , this beautiful temple of Rama is built of white and
black basalt stone. An architrave at the foot of the hillock
welcomes the visitors. The exquisite carvings on temple walls,
ceiling and door frames display excellent craftsmanship of the
17th Century A.D. To the South of the Temple is an extensive
tank amidst which nestles a pillared mandapam . The scenic
locale adds to the beauty of the temple

Domakonda

Domakonda
was a Samsthanam under the Qutub Shahis and Asaf
Jahis. The Reddy rulers of Domakonda Samasthanam
built the fort in the 18th Century. The entrence
to the fort has an arched gateway reflecting Asaf
Jahi influence. The fort has bastions both
square as well as circular, built at irregular
intervals . Inside the fort are two palaces and a
temple complex. The temple dedicated to Siva was
built on Stellate plan, imitating the Kakatiya
style of architecture. This fort is an example
of the defence architecture of the princely states
of Telangana.

Significance: Sun's Rays Fall On
The Siva Lingam on the Rathasaptami Day Constructed by the Rastrakutas and
improved by Kakatiyasa, the structure resembles
the North Indian Style of Architecture. The
festival of Rathasapthami is annually celebrated
on a grand scale in this temple.
Annual
Festival is celebrated for two days during
January-February. Special prayers are offered on
these days. About 30,000 devotees attend this
festival.

Originally
known as Indur, the town and fort were built by
the Rashtrakutas. There is a 40 feet high
monolithic victory pillar built during the
Rashtrakuta times. The fort was occupied by
Allauddin Khilji in 1311 A.D, and subsequently
went into the hands of Bahamanis, Qutub Shahis and
then Asaf Jahis. The present fort has a wide area
encircled by masonry walls along with huge
bastions at the corners. This fort of the
Rashtrakutas has continued to be of strategic
importance right down to the Asaf Jahis. The
present fort reflects the Asaf Jahi style of
architecture with spacious halls and a summer
house. Adding importance to the fort is the Bada
Rammandir Temple, built by Samarth Ramdass the
guru of Chatrapathi Shivaji. The fort offers a
panoramic view of the Nizamabad town and its
surroundings.

Located on
the highway , Armoor is a natural stopover for all
traffic. The hillock of boulders is the result of
natural weathering over millions of Years . On top
of hillock is the Navanatha Siddeswara Temple. The local people belive that Navanathas or
Siddhas, venerable sages , still live in the
natural caves and cavesns of these hillocks. The water sport nearby areas has been
drawing people in large numbers for it belived
that the water has curative powers, healing
chronic diseases and disabilities. On the
rocks! Nature reveals its artistic expressions
with this unique rock formations.
