Swamy Ashram Pitadhipathi wished to have a temple
for Sri Devi. In 1968 Sri Ratna Swamy Mudiliar and
Sri Veera Raghava Iyyengar prevailed upon the
district authorities of Nellore and got allotted
one acre of land. The foundation stone was laid by
Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Pitadhipathi Paramacharyulu
Sri Sri Sri Chandra Sekhara Saraswathi Swamy.
After the completion of construction Sri Kanchi
Kamakoti Pitadhipathi Sri Jayendra Saraswathi
consecrated the idol of Sri Rajeshwari Ammavaru on
6-3-1975. In the memory of his late father Sri
Chinnappa Mudiliar, Sri Rama Swamy Mudiliar got
constructed the Mukhamandapam and from the amount
of donors Mahamandapam. M/s Madaviah furniture
donated for Navagrah Mandapam. In 1985 the Temple
came under the administrative control of the
Endowments Department who are also taking several
steps for the improvement of the temple which is
attracting thousands of devotees daily.

500 years old, this temple is situated on the baks
of the river Pennar and is marked by a huge 29mts
tall Galigopuram with seven gold kalasams.
Well-known for its architectural splendour, the
main deity of the temple is in a reclining posutre
on his couch, Anantga Sesha. In the remarkable
Addalamantapam (Mirror Parlour), the mirrors are
strategically arranged to offer a spectacular view
of the deity from various angles. The ceiling,
adorned with paintings of Lord Krishna, is unique
in many aspects.

diety of the temple is Sri Rukmini Satyabhama
Sametha Sri Venugopala Swamy. The idols are in

every Friday, Satgurday and Sunday. There are also
